Medication Management

A Thoughtful, Collaborative Approach

Medication can be a powerful tool when used carefully and for the right reasons. I prescribe when it aligns with your goals and when research or clinical experience indicates it is likely to help. Some patients benefit from medication alone, some from psychotherapy alone, and many from a combination of both.

Follow-Up and Monitoring

If we start a medication, we meet regularly to monitor your response and adjust as needed. Good medication treatment is not simply about choosing a drug — it is an ongoing, thoughtful process that takes your whole experience into account.

Your Preferences Matter

Some patients prefer to avoid medication; others feel strongly about addressing symptoms biologically. My role is not to push you in one direction but to help you make fully informed decisions based on your goals, values, and lived experience.

Combining Medication and Psychotherapy

For some people, the most effective approach involves a combination of medication and psychotherapy. If you’re interested in exploring how psychotherapy might fit into your treatment, you can read more here.
